Here’s how the Bright Audiology Second Opinion Clinic works:

1) We analyze how your hearing aids are working in a special test box, to ensure they are functioning correctly, particularly in background noise.

2) We use Real Ear Measures to evaluate whether your hearing aids are set to the correct prescription (similar to how an eye doctor will check your vision prescription). This measurement is part of recommended best practices for an audiologist, but sadly only about 20% of practices do this test.

3) Once we understand how well your devices are actually helping you hear, we can make adjustments to your current devices to make sure you are getting the most out of them. Sometimes your existing hearing aids are really great, they just need a little adjustment to work better for your ears.

We can also help make sure:
√ You are appropriately cleaning and caring for your devices
√ You are successfully managing wax buildup in your ears
√ Your devices are functioning appropriately or require minor repair, or factory repair
√ Your devices are set correctly for your hearing loss or require reprogramming
√ Your devices have the appropriate ear pieces (tips versus custom molds)
